The doors at the Manchester District Library are alive with Aztec inspired designs painted by Manchester High School Junior Annabelle Otto. Ms. Otto, the president of the high school Spanish Club and a page at the library, is painting local windows in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Working with club member Judy Sahakian and Manchester High School Spanish Teacher Cheryl Call, Ms. Otto has painted several business windows in town as they seek donations to finance gift baskets for migrant workers who are expected to arrive in the area soon. Ten families associated with the DeRussel Potato Farm will receive gift cards from the Spanish Club this year.

If you have questions about the Spanish Club, the Cinco de Mayo door painting project or would like to contribute, email Cheryl Call at ccall@mcs.k12.mi.us or call her at (734) 428-7333 ext. 1119.
