Spring is finally here and the return of community outdoor events. Manchester Men's Club is kicking off the season with its annual Ribs and Blues event on Saturday, May 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Carr Park on West Main Street in Manchester.

This year's event will feature International Blues Challenge winner Chef Chris. The Blues Foundation named Chef Chris and the Nairobi Trio "the best unsigned blues band in the world"  in 2002. Other acts include Erich Gobel and the Flying Crowbars, The Kenny Parker Band, The Royal Blackbirds and Horse Cave Trio.

Chef Chris will also be cooking alongside Randy's Original Roadside Barbecue and Mr. P's Real Deal Barbecue serving up racks of ribs and other meat treats.

For 10 years the Manchester Men's Club has hosted the popular food and music event to raise funds for the community. All proceeds raised from events held by the club is given back to the community for projects or support in other areas of need.

Event chairperson John Stedman invites everyone to come out to Manchester for a fun filled day. "All are welcome to come on out for some cold beer, hot barbecue and cool blues from some of southeast Michigan's top blues bands" Stedman said.

Admission to the event is $5. For more information visit the Mens Club’s website  or like them on Facebook.
