St. Mary’s Church, Emanuel Church, Manchester Methodist Church, and Sharon Methodist Church will be hosting a Vacation Bible School for preschoolers - 8th graders.  It will be held June 23, 2013 - June 26, 2014, from 6:15 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Emanuel United Church of Christ which is located at 324 West Main St., Manchester.

Anne Hanna, organizer, explained that the four sponsoring churches have been holding Vacation Bible School together since the summer of 2008. At one time each of the churches except St. Mary Roman Catholic Church had their own vacation bible School, though occasionally 2 area churches would team up. Now, lay representatives and pastors from each church meet in January of each year to set the calendar and curriculum. Then the lay members continue to meet to plan and execute the event. Vacation Bible School is held at a different sponsoring church each year.

This year’s theme is “Workshop of Wonders: Imagine & Build with God”. The children will enjoy an evening of music, singing, storytelling, arts and crafts project, games, snacks, and much more. Each evening, an offertory will be collected for the Manchester Senior Citizens Meals.

You do not need to be a member of any of these churches to participate and there is no cost. Pre-registration is preferred. Please obtain a form at any of the participating churches or email Katie Ray at raykatiea@gmail.com to obtain a form electronically. Registration will take place in the Emanuel Church gym starting at 5:45 P.M. on Monday only.

If you have any questions regarding VBS or pre-registering, call Teri Aiuto at (734) 428-7002.
