OTHER INFORMATION FROM THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE

With warm weather comes the need to open up our houses and cars to cool things off. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens that if you’ve opened up your home or car, don’t forget to lock them back up when unattended or at nightfall when they may not be able to be monitored. Its good practice to keep things secured. In many instances suspects report that they had no intention of committing a crime at the start of their day. Often we are told that they saw an opportunity to commit an easy crime and they took it. Let’s not give thieves any easy opportunities to take advantage of unsecured car doors or open garages.
