IMG_1790Excitement is buzzing at Manchester District Library as Fizz, Boom, Read!, the 2014 Summer Reading Program, draws to a close. Don’t worry if you have reading logs that need to be turned in. You still have time. And don’t worry if you still want to sign up…they will let you!

Fizz, Boom, Read! will end with a bang on July 25. Children (ages 12 and under) who have completed their reading goal for at least four weeks are invited to a celebration party at 5pm. The library will be serving pizza and drawings for prizes will take place at that time. Prizes include a Kindle Fire, author signed books, passes to swim at the Comfort Inn of Chelsea, passes to Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, a family membership to the Great Lakes Zoological Society, and more.

At 6pm, on July 25, the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum will be in the Village Room for three hours of great science fun. This free event is open to everyone, whether or not you participated in the Summer Reading Program. All the experiments will show science at work in fun and meaningful ways. Come get messy and get smart at the same time!

Note: Originally this article stated that children completing 5 of their 6 weeks of reading were invited to the celebration. In fact children finishing 4, 5 or 6 of their 6 weeks of reading will be invited!
