Caramel Apple Tradition 2The Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce, the Manchester Civic Club, the Manchester Lions Club, and other volunteers are sponsoring the annual Caramel Apple event on the Manchester Mill porch at Main Street and Adrian on Friday, October 31. This free event will run from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, concurrently with tricker-treating. It consists of volunteers preparing apples and dipping them in caramel along with other treats and handing them out to young and old alike. The organizers expect to give out over 1,000 apples this year. For the safety of all those participating, Adrian Street will be closed to traffic for the event. Another attraction this year will be pumpkin bowling, sponsored by the Manchester Lions Club, and will be located adjacent to the apple event.

The sponsors acknowledge the gracious support of Dr. Monty and JoAnn Okey for their donation of caramel and other supplies. The Okeys held this event at their home for 25 years prior to its move to the mill. They also would like to acknowledge the contribution of apples by Manchester Market, and Karl and Pat Racenis for use of the mill.

Come out and indulge your sweet tooth for a unique Manchester tradition at this festive event! For further information, please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 734-476-4565.
