Manchester Early Childhood Center (MECC), located within the Nellie Ackerson building at 410 City Road, is looking ahead to the 2015-2016 school year. MECC offers care for infants through preschool age children with a play-based, nurturing and engaging learning environment for all age levels. As in previous years, they also offer FREE quality preschool to qualifying children who will be 3 or 4 year old by September 1, 2015. You can apply for free preschool online HERE  or call the center at 734-428-9711 ext. 1013 for more information.

MECC programs provide inclusive settings that recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs and learning styles. They believe children learn best through meaningful play and recognize that parents are a child’s first teachers and that children learn best when parents are involved in their educational program. The primary bridge between home and school is the involvement of family and the community.

They will be holding a Fall Open House on Thursday, September 3rd from 6 – 7:30pm. All rooms throughout the center will be open to tour including:

  • Infant Room
  • Toddler Room
  • 3 Year-Old Classroom
  • Half-Day Preschool Classroom
  • Full-Day Preschool Classroom
  • Daycare Room
  • Multi-Purpose Room
  • Playground

To enroll your child or for more information visit their website or call at 734-428-9711 ext. 1013.

It is the philosophy of the Manchester Early Childhood Center that children are encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a safe and nurturing environment. Their play-based, child centered programs reflect the integration of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self-help, and aesthetic areas for the total development of the child. Meaningful play encourages curiosity, discovery, and problem solving which allow individual growth and development of a positive self-image.
