If you are looking for a unique, fun and FREE activity to do on  Saturday, October 17 this not only fits the bill but is an opportunity to help promote Manchester tourism. The Manchester Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is hosting a pilot bus tour of Manchester agricultural and historical locations on Saturday, October 17, from 9 am to 4 pm and seeking participants. This tour is FREE to all participants, and includes free lunch and snacks!

Activities along the way include tours of Horning Dairy Farm, Mottice Historical Farm and Cabin, St. Mary's Church, Emanuel Church, Manchester's Historic Downtown, Sharon Mills Park & Historic Mill, Hand Sown Farm, and a driving tour of barn quilts. Lunch will be provided family style at Frank's Place on Main Street. Please see the tour description for details.

The tour will leave Manchester High School at approximately 9 am and return to the High School parking lot at 4 pm. Transportation will be provided on a Manchester Community Schools bus. Participants must be 5 years or older, and able to get onto and off the school bus on their own. All the DDA is asking from participants is feedback and comments at the end of the tour, to help them improve the tour for the future.

This is a rare opportunity to see the inside workings and hear the history of places you may have driven by many times but don't know much about. The tour is limited to 35 participants. Please RSVP with names of attendees to Ray Berg at rayberg@att.net or 248-765-9324.

The DDA is conducting this tour as part of the Community Tourism Action Plan, for which grant monies were received for a variety of tourism promotion efforts.
