And the Winner is... Results of the Scarecrow Contest

You may have noticed creative, themed scarecrows of all sorts attached to light posts around the Village this week. The Manchester Village Scarecrow contest organized by Manchester Kiwanis, Manchester Community Schools and the Manchester Chamber of Commerce had 18 entries by youth organizations and school-age individuals. Entrants included MHS German Club, MHS Key Club, MHS SRSLY, MHS Band and multiple Builders Club members. Judging was done by area ministers.

Anna Amburgey of the Builders Club won 1st place and $50 with her girl scarecrow on display at the corner of Macomb and West Main. The Manchester Co-op Preschool won 2nd place and $25 with their minion scarecrow. May Enzer won 3rd place and $10 with her Minecraft scarecrow.

Scarecrows will be on display around the village until November 15th. Spokesperson Cindy Kenney said that organizers do plan to do the scarecrow contest again next year with more categories and community judging.
