Manchester Area Applicants Sought for Healthcare Education Scholarships

Stethoscope-2St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea is again providing scholarships for students interested in pursuing a career in health care. In 2016, the hospital will award five merit-based scholarships to local students in the amount of $1,000 each.

To qualify, this year's applicants must be enrolled full-time in a health care program for which certification is given or a degree is granted. Applicants must live in Chelsea, Manchester, Dexter, Pinckney, Grass Lake, Stockbridge or Gregory. Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement, community involvement, and a sincere interest in health care.

Applications may be picked up at the information desk inside St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, or can be mailed upon request. Applications will be accepted until May 6, 2016.

The scholarships being awarded are funded by the St. Joe's Auxiliary, a volunteer department within the hospital.
