On Wednesday, November 16, the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners reappointed Barbara Fuller as one of the three Washtenaw County Board of Road Commissioners. Fuller was first appointed in October 2013 and has served as the Commission’s vice-chair since 2014. Fuller’s term will run through December 31, 2022.

Barbara Fuller, who lives in Sharon Township, is only the second woman ever to be appointed as a Washtenaw County Road Commissioner. She also serves as the Road Commission representative to the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission.

Fuller is committed to further strengthening the Road Commission’s relationships with the public, elected officials, townships, agencies, and staff. “I am looking forward to the next six years and am committed to working hard to continue building trust with and being accessible to the communities we serve. Our agency has been challenged to maintain and rebuild our aging infrastructure with limited resources. I intend to continue to build partnerships and work with our townships to maximize funding opportunities and get the job done,” said Fuller.

Road commissioners are appointed every two years to serve six-year staggered terms. The other two road commissioners are Doug Fuller, Chair (not related to Barbara) and William McFarlane. The Washtenaw County Road Commission and Board of Road Commissioners are pleased to extend their congratulations to Fuller on her reappointment.
