The Manchester Community School District recently announced that planning for the 2017-2018 kindergarten program is now under way. Families of children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2017 and live in the Manchester Community School District, are encouraged to attend a special information night on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 6 – 7 pm. Likewise, any families living in Washtenaw County or counties that border Washtenaw County, who are considering having their children attend the Manchester School District as a school of choice are encouraged to attend. This event will take place in the cafeteria of Klager Elementary School, located at 405 Ann Arbor Street.

At this meeting, Principal Karin Villarreal will introduce parents and guardians to the kindergarten curriculum, give a short presentation on the “typical” kindergarten day, and discuss the registration process. Special literature on school readiness will also be available.

Families who are unable to attend this session may pick up a readiness book and additional information after February 15 at the Klager School Office during normal school hours, 7:45 am – 3:45 pm. Registration for Kindergarten students will begin in mid-March with a “Registration Celebration” planned for Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 4-7 pm.
