Laura Seyfried, Executive Director of the Community Resource Center (CRC), visited the Manchester Area Senior Citizens after their lunch last Thursday. Laura provided useful information concerning the CRC’s role in the community which encompasses the village and the townships of Manchester, Bridgewater, Freedom, and Sharon whose residences are located within the Manchester School District. However, if someone calls or comes in from outside the school district, they will be helped. The CRC will then direct them to the agency in their area which can be of further assistance.

The 2017 income guidelines for qualifying for assistance from the CRC were passed out and copies left to be distributed at subsequent MASCC, Inc. meals. (Many people may be surprised to learn that they may meet the income guidelines needed to use the Food Pantry and to receive other helps.) They may also qualify for free income tax assistance each February, March, and April. The qualifying income for this service is even higher!

Seniors were encouraged to visit the CRC office and the Food Pantry located in the Ackerson School Building. The Food Pantry is stocked with boxed, canned, fresh, and frozen goods. Donations of food, paper, and hygiene products are always welcome.

Thank you to Laura Seyfried from the MASCC, Inc.
