On Tuesday, May 2nd the Manchester girls soccer team took the short trip down to Lenawee Christian to continue league play. The Lady Dutch came out strong straight from kickoff, Rayna Edwards putting Manchester 1 – 0 up with less than 3 minutes gone in the game.

Manchester’s 2nd came from captain Delanie Osborne, a low driven shot to the bottom right hand corner of the net from a solid distance. Manchester added 3 more in the first half with goals from Emma Mrocko, Hannah Woods and a 2nd from Delanie Osborne.

A brief HT team talk and the Lady Dutch were back out for the 2nd half, two more quick goals from Emma Mrocko and Rylee Cole lobbing the keeper for Manchester’s last goal.

The Lady Dutch took their foot off the pedal and made the mistake of gifting LCS a Penalty kick after a handball in the box.

The game ended at Lenawee 1 – 7 Manchester.

The next day, Wednesday may 3rd, Girls soccer hosted Clinton, in what turned out to be a physical encounter ending with a Lady Dutch 1 – 0 win.

Captain Delanie Osborne scored the only goal of the game after the Clinton goal keeper couldn’t maintain control of an Emma Mrocko shot, which Osborne calmly slotted home.

All in all it wasn’t a great game, Both teams constantly turning the ball over and failing to maintain possession. Nonetheless Manchester managed to dig deep to come away with the win and now stand at the top of the ISL East.
