The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Hamburg Township Police Department, regarding three separate attempted child luring incidents which have occurred since Saturday, August 26, 2017.

The Washtenaw County incident occurred in the area of Orchard Street and Portage Lake Avenue in Dexter Township on the evening of August 27, 2017, at approximately 9pm. A nine year old was riding his bicycle when the driver of a white cargo style van exited the vehicle and told the child to get into the van. At this time, a second individual exited the van from the front passenger door but did not make any statements to the child. The child fled on his bicycle and immediately reported the incident to his mother.

In all three incidents the suspects targeted white male children between the ages of 4 to 12 years of age. The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as a white male, approximately 20 years of age, no facial hair, thin build, black sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and unknown color of hair. No physical description available of the suspect in the passenger seat.
