This month's Awareness Series film is 2012 Canadian documentary, Flight of the Butterflies, which tracks the details of what is considered one of the longest known insect migrations: the flight of the monarch butterfly from central Mexico to the United States and Canada and back. The film, covering Dr. Fred Urquhart's nearly 40-year-long scientific investigation into monarch butterflies, was directed and co-written by Mike Slee and stars Megan Follows, Gordon Pinsent, and Shaun Benson. On Tuesday, October 24th at 7 pm, Stewards of Western Washtenaw will present Flight of the Butterflies, free, in the Village Room located at 912 City Road.

The Stewards of Western Washtenaw and the Manchester District Library present free enviromental movies on the 4th Tuesday of every month.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
