Beginning in 2016, 5HealthyTowns Foundation has held a "Fabulous Farm-to-Table Feast" to benefit each of the five communities it serves, by raising money for the communities’ farmers markets. It has been held so far in Chelsea and Grass Lake and this year it will be held in Manchester. Everyone is invited to the next Farm to Table planning meeting on Sat. Feb 10 at 9:30 am at the Kingsley-Jenter House at 302 E. Main Street.

The meal will be a dinner. Decisions still to be made include among other things, the date, type of meal, location and theme. Currently, September 9th and 16th are being considered as are Alber's Orchard and Carr Park as locations. No decision has been made yet as to the type of meal--but plated, buffet, and family style service are all being considered. "Agricultural heritage" and "family fun" are being considered as a theme for this year's event.

This is a large event and requires many volunteers--both during the planning stages, and to actually work at the event to make it a success. The goal is to make a profit of $10,000 or more to be divided between the five farmers markets. If you can’t attend, but have ideas and/or would like to be involved in planning or volunteering for this event, email farmersmarket48158@gmail.com.
