Chain Gang needs yarn

Lapghan crocheted by Chain Gang member will comfort a patient in a sterile hospital environment and go home with them when they leave.

The Chain Gang is Manchester’s own network of knitters and crocheters who produce premie hats, newborn hats, chemo caps, prayer shawls, lapghans, slippers and more for premature babies, newborns, cancer patients, cardio patients, veterans, children in foster care and others in need. Christine Baisden, Chain Gang organizer, explained that while some knitters and crocheters can purchase yarn to use, others rely on donated yarn and the donated yarn supplies are low. While they accept and appreciate any and all yarn, worsted weight and sport weight are in the highest demand.

If you have any yarn you would like to donate please drop it off at Pyramid Office Supply at 108 East Main Street. The Chain Gang will also accept donations of money that will be used to purchase yarn to make the afghans.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
