Cement truck tug-of-war at last year’s Klager Math and Science Night

Klager/Riverside Math and Science Night 2019 is scheduled for Friday, April 26th this year from 6 to 8 pm at Klager Elementary School located at 405 Ann Arbor St. The educational evening, organized with support from the PTO and Manchester Wellness Coalition, is looking for volunteer presenters to share their love of science and math with students and families.

Each presenter will have their own classroom, and may set up informational displays or activities that convey a few ideas in a way that younger students can appreciate. For example, past topics include the physics of paper airplanes, rock collecting, getting to know stringed instruments with a “petting zoo” that included a violin and cello, and the opportunity to play tug of war with a cement truck.

Because of the building reconfiguration in the district that took place last summer, the event which had previously been called Klager Math and Science Night has been renamed to encompass students and families of Klager Elementary, which now houses preschool through 2nd grade, and Riverside Intermediate, which houses 3rd through 6th grade.

Please email organizers at mathscience48158@gmail.com with questions, ideas, or your interest in being a presenter! Please share this opportunity with anyone you think might be interested.
