There will be eight summer evenings filled with music at the Wurster Park Gazebo as the summer 2019 Gazebo Concert Series begins its 31st year.

June 13, 7 pm, will bring Gemini, some of Michigan’s premier children’s performers, to the gazebo. This popular duo has been a perennial favorite at many gazebo concerts in the past. Please note the early start time, as this is our annual children's concert ... and it is the last "school night" of the year!

On June 20, Billy King and friends will be in residence starting at 7:30 pm. (All concerts from here on, begin at 7:30 pm). Billy is also a "gazebo veteran," who's been performing at concerts here in Manchester since childhood. This time, he will bring new classics and original covers to the stage with a variety of local musicians.

Westbound Situation, bringing a fresh approach to traditional string band music, will be featured at the June 27 concert. This unique quartet consisting of Zach Brown, Matt Davis, Grant Flick, and Jacob Warren, blends the precision of classical chamber music, the rhythmic drive of bluegrass, and the colorful expression of jazz into a new style of chamber music—"chambergrass".

Observe July 4 at the gazebowith the Blue Water Ramblers, who write and sing traditional music with modern themes--the songs of Michigan, America and YOUR life. Their repertoire comes right out of our Michigan life experiences and the history of the Great Lakes region. What a great way to celebrate our country and our state!

On July 25, we welcome the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic, America’s (and certainly Washtenaw County's!) premier youth fiddling show band. Their fantastic repertoire will keep your feet tapping all evening long.

August 1 brings "The Big Band Theory" to the gazebo stage. Come on out and hear jazz standards, pop, and rock as performed by a VERY big band!

On August 8, The Brockman Brass will feature Manchester’s own beloved band director “Mr. T” (Jared Throneberry), along with local singer-songwriter Kayla Kendall.

Again, all concerts begin at 7:30 pm, except for June 13 which starts at 7 pm. Although the concerts are all free, your donations are accepted as we pass the hat during intermission. Local support for these concerts have kept this tradition going for 30 years; let's make it happen for another 30!

If the weather doesn't cooperate, there will still be a concert! Rain location is at Emanuel Church, just across the street.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
