Kidz Biz returning to Farmers Market
The Farmers Market likes to give kids the opportunity to sell something they make over the summer. Last year, they introduced Kidz Biz and they are bringing it back this year! For $1 each, anyone under the age of 18 can have a space at the market on a Kidz Biz day to sell their products. This year’s Kidz Biz days are Thursday, August 1 and Thursday, August 29, 2019.
What can kids sell? Some things are not allowed including no prepared food items – for example: cookies, cake, bread, candy, cut up fruits or vegetables, lemonade, and other beverages. Kids are allowed to sell crafts, pictures, wood items (e.g., birdhouse), homemade play dough, silly putty, fruits and vegetables (not cut up) that you’ve grown in your garden, flower bouquets, etc. The Farmers Market suggests most items cost $5 or less as most shoppers bring $20 or less to the market, so items costing more than $5 are less likely to sell.
Sign your kid up for Kidz Biz by emailing market manager Laura Wohlgemuth at farmersmarket48158@gmail.com for the form.
