MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES 

RESOLUTION FOR ROAD MAINTENANCE 

MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL 

RESOLUTION NO. 19-10 

WHEREAS, Manchester Township’s authority to levy a tax of 0.35 mills for public safety purposes will expire this year. It is necessary to renew that millage authority in order to provide road maintenance services to the residents of the Township; 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Manchester Township Board of Trustees approves the following millage ballot question and directs the Clerk to submit it to be placed on the Tuesday, November 5, 2019 election ballot to be voted on by the qualified electors of Manchester Township: 

Extra Voted Road Maintenance Millage Renewal 

Shall the previous voted increases expiring in 2019 in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Manchester Township, of 0.35 mills ($0.35 per $1,000 of Taxable value), reduced to 0.35 mills ($0.35 per $1,000 of Taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to the original voted 0.35 mills ($0.35 per $1,000 of Taxable value) and levied for 5 years, for the period of 2020 through 2024 Inclusive, for Maintenance of Roads within Manchester Township, raising in the first year the millage is levied an estimated $71,588.00.

The foregoing resolution offered by Board Member Carey; Second offered by Board Member Milkey. Upon roll call vote the following voted “aye”; DeRossett, Carey, Milkey, Macomber, Proctor; “nay”: None. Absent: Moutinho, Seefeld. 

The supervisor declared resolution 19-10 ADOPTED. Adopted August 12, 2019

I, Danell Proctor, the duly elected Clerk of Manchester Township, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the Township Board by a roll call vote at a Special Meeting held on August 12, 2019, at which meeting a quorum was present; and this resolution was ordered to take immediate effect.
