Manchester--village or city?

Do you still have questions about Manchester's quest to become a city, rather than a village?

On the agenda for tonight's Village Council meeting (held at 8 pm rather than its usual 7 pm time, due to visitation for Susan DuRussel), will be an additional special public participation session to again discuss City Status.

The session will be held shortly after the start of the meeting, following approval of minutes and agenda. If village residents have questions about the village seeking to pursue city status, that has been sparked by recent meetings, articles, or any other discussions, they are invited to bring those questions to this meeting.

Village President Pat Vailliencourt indicated that she is also planning to schedule a morning and/or an afternoon Q&A session for Village Council members to interact with residents. Those dates and times will be announced soon.

Village Manager Jeff Wallace is working on setting up a meeting with the State Boundary Commission Office and the Office of the Great Seal, who will partner with the village as this process is ongoing. Wallace said he hopes to get information from both offices prior to the meeting that can be used to productively schedule an agenda with relevant topics for the village's meeting with them.
