The Manchester Mirror is pleased to welcome Tyler Scott as our new sports reporter for the football season. He will be covering Manchester High School varsity football.

Tyler Scott is a broadcast and print journalist excited to be back covering prep sports. He comes to the Manchester Mirror with a background in news, commercial radio and sports reporting. He previously covered prep sports for the Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Writing for the Michigan Daily, Scott covered the University of Michigan softball team in 2015 – the year the Wolverines finished as runners-up in the Women’s College World Series.

Currently, Scott covers news in his day job as a weekend afternoon host and producer at Michigan Radio (NPR – WUOM 91.7 in Ann Arbor/Detroit). He can be heard on-air delivering newscasts frequently throughout the week.

Scott studied political science at the University of Michigan and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2016. He graduated from Ithaca (MI) High School in 2012, where he played on the Yellow Jackets’ back-to-back state championship football teams. He spent one season after high school coaching 5th grade football players how to block on the offensive line.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
