Time to nominate volunteers for recognition!

For the past 31 years, the Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet has provided the forum for area organizations to shine a spotlight on those who go the extra mile to make local organizations and the community successful. Once again, the Community Resource Center is proud to provide this opportunity and deliver a fun filled evening at the same time. This year’s theme is The Wizard of Oz – because there’s no place like Manchester and there’s no better place to be a volunteer.

The 2019 event will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea. The price per attendee is $50; $45 if you register by Monday, October 7th. If you are attending with a group, please let us know so we can arrange seating to meet your needs. Cocktails and appetizers start at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Volunteer recognition will take place throughout the evening with the special award winners announced at the end of the event. The Banquet also has a wonderful silent auction fundraiser to support the programs and services of CRC with many new items this year in addition to some old favorites. Back by popular demand – a few select items will once again be auctioned “live” during the event. We hope to wrap up the evening around 10 pm with the announcement of the winning silent auction bids.

Just follow these easy steps to nominate one or more “super” volunteers:

  • Fill out the 2019 Volunteer Nomination Form. Include information on why your nominee is so valuable to your organization, plus any other volunteer activities, past or present, he/she may be involved in. If you need more input, please include an additional contact name and phone number of someone close to the nominee. You, the additional contact person, and the nominee may be called for follow up information by the banquet committee program writer.
  • Ask your nominee to make his/her dinner choice, and include this information for any other guests your organization is paying for. A convenient Dinner Reply Form can be completed and returned to the CRC along with payment and your nomination form.
  • If you have more than one nominee, please fill out a separate form for each person unless you are nominating them as a group, in which case provide information on their collective effort.
  • Include a check payable to the Community Resource Center. The cost is $50 per person. Early registration incentive – save $5 per person – if you send in your payment by October 7th.
  • Turn in your nomination to the CRC no later than noon on Monday, October 14, 2019 to insure your nominee is included in the selection for special awards and the program.
