Chocolate Potluck Scheduled for Saturday
The Manchester Ladies Society is hosting an all-chocolate potluck this Saturday, January 25, at 1pm at the Manchester United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The potluck is for all of the women in the community, and is free. Bring your mother, your daughter, your granddaughter. MLS asks that you bring a dish to pass with chocolate as an ingredient.
Although there will a display set up showing some of MLS’s current projects, the potluck is not a fundraiser or a recruitment event. Jessica Bushaw, president of the Ladies Society, came up with the idea of the potluck. She explained, “I really want MLS to not only help the community, but to be a place where women can be themselves, have fun and learn from their fellow ladies. The potluck is about starting those traditions and showing off some of our work from the last year.”
Some of the dishes coming include the healthy, like mocha ricotta pudding, and the savory, like cocoa quinoa chili, but most of the confirmed dishes are decadent desserts like chocolate cavity cake, dark chocolate orange bundt cake, and chocolate cupcakes with Nutella cloud frosting. There will also be a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit for dipping.
“We chose chocolate because it seemed like a perfect time to indulge and relax after the holidays…or, actually, anytime is a good time for chocolate,” stated Bushaw.
The Manchester Ladies Society is a non-profit women’s organization that meets one Saturday a month in the Village Room. Their next meeting is Feb. 15, at 1pm. If you have any questions about MLS or the potluck, email manchesterladiessociety@gmail.com.
