Manchester Schools Foundation Trivia Night Fundraiser
About 75 people got together at the Freedom Township Hall on Saturday night for the Manchester Schools Foundation trivia night. There were 9 teams consisting of 8- 10 team members each. In addition to six rounds of questions, there were brainteaser-type puzzles and special games that contributed to each team’s points.
One of the special games was called “Heads and Tails”. In this game, there was a coin toss of two quarters. Everyone had to guess the result of the coin toss. To exhibit their guess, every person in the room stood up and placed their hands on their heads or “tails”. Each person opted to put both their hands on their head, on their “tail” or one of each, depending on how they expected the coins to fall.
In the end, team “Gray Matter” took home the honors and the t-shirts!
This fundraising event happens once a year and will happen again in February or March of 2015. It is open to all.
The Manchester Schools Foundation’s goal is not to replace or supplement normal district funding, but provide funding for special projects beyond the resources of the district. Fundraising projects provide the following: Mini-grants to individual teachers for special projects, technology and software to enhance the classroom lessons, and funding specialty programs not in the curriculum. The Manchester Schools Foundation is always looking for new members and you can learn more at their website or Facebook page
