The Manchester Township Fire Department is holding two events as part of a fundraising campaign to raise $20,000 to purchase a Kubota All Terrain Rescue Vehicle in honor of the memory of Cameron LaDouceur. The campaign was spearheaded by Bubba, a local radio personality on 102.9 W4 Country who visited the Manchester Fire Station at the end of May as part of “Breakfast with Bubba’s Friday Firehouse Tour”. LaDouceur passed away in April in an off road vehicle accident. Half of the $20,000 has been raised so far.

The first upcoming event is a spaghetti dinner to be held on July 25 at Sharon United Methodist Church located at M-52 and Pleasant Lake Rd. Donations will be accepted starting at 4pm until 8pm. There will also be a silent auction. The next day, on July 26, a second benefit will be held, a softball game between the Friends of the Manchester Fire Dept. and the Washtenaw County Sheriffs Dept. at the Manchester Athletic Fields starting at 1pm.

If you are unable to attend either event but would like to contribute, you can donate directly by check made out to “Memorial Fund For Cameron” which can be dropped off at R.D. Kleinschmidt’s, any Key Bank branch, the Manchester Fire Department, or Manchester Township Offices
