MHS Class of 1984 to Celebrate 30 Year Class Reunion this Weekend

Manchester High School’s Class of 1984 will be celebrating its 30 year class reunion this Saturday, July 19th. It’s being held in Manchester at Stephanie and Eric Beuerle’s house at 10335 M-52. Doors will open at 3:00 pm with dinner at 6:00 pm. The event is BYOB. All MHS graduates are invited to the party after 7 pm. The cost is $30 per couple or $20 per person. In addition to Saturday’s event, Dave Dettling organized a golf outing on Friday, July 18th. For more information on the golf outing email him at dawger24@yahoo.com. The organizers are looking for photos to use in a slideshow and ask that if you have any, that you email them to Silkworth.

Brenda Sodt Foster, another of the event’s organizers, stated that they are expecting a large crowd on the 19th, with classmates coming in from Arizona, Florida, Alabama, Colorado, Ohio, Illinois, and Tennessee for the celebration. The organizers started to contact graduates in January and of the 77 graduates they’ve been able to track down all but 3 — Cathy Weber, Harley Harmon and Toby Gurzick.

The last reunion the class held was their 25th, in 2009. Foster noted that the event was well attended. She also recalled that “for many, it was our last opportunity to spend time with Brian Getty.” Getty was a classmate lost in 2010. (Editor’s Note: We have received new information that Getty died in 2010, not 2012 as was originally reported.)

Foster would like to thank Stephanie Alexander Beuerle, Kim Cyers Hammill, Dave Dettling, Julie Gebhardt Feldkamp, Mike Silkworth, Sara Rigg LeBlanc, Kristin Stein-Osentoski, and Jennifer Stein Johnson for making this event a reality.
