New Dance Studio Comes to Manchester
There will be a new dance studio in town opening in September. For months now Anya Novesky has been looking for a space to open her new dance studio “Dance with Heart Studios” and after checking out various surrounding communities, she fell in love with Manchester. She will be moving into the former Unforgettable Photos space next to the Coffee Mill. “The space was perfect” and, Anya said, only required minimal alterations.
Anya, who grew up in Clinton, has danced for 20 years and has taught dance for 10. Her dance experience started with Eleanore Brown at The Dance Center in Adrian. She went on to study with many professional dancers such as Anthony Randazzo who is now the Ballet Master of the Boston Ballet. After dancing for the Monroe Ballet Company she moved to Grand Rapids and danced with their Ballet Company. It was there that she experienced an injury that no longer allowed her to be able to dance professionally. Anya decided to go to college to get a degree in counselling and after graduating worked as a school counselor. Dancing was still very close to her heart and she also began teaching dance classes. She has now received a Teachers Training School Diploma from the Teachers Training School of Dance Masters of America with certifications in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern. She has also passed her grade I Cecchetti teacher examination.
Dance with Heart Studio will initially have classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Anya is planning to offer a variety of classes including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, adult jazz, and musical theater. In addition to dance classes, Zumba and Yoga will also be offered — possibly even a Creative Kinder class for 3 and 4 year olds. The studio will have four sessions a year that are eight weeks long and an annual, fully costumed dance recital each year. The Fall semester is set to begin September 9th.
The Dance with Heart Studio will be having a grand opening on September 4th from 3:00 – 7:30 pm at the new studio’s location 117 E. Main. Light refreshments will be served and you can register for fall classes. At the very least stop by and welcome Anya to Manchester.
