Starting last Wednesday, elementary and middle school students can walk in a group to school from a park.  Participants will receive a chain necklace and, for each Wednesday they walk, will receive toe tokens to add to their necklace. The two meeting locations are Carr Park at 7:30am or Chi-Bro Park at 7:40am. The Walking Wednesdays program will run EVERY Wednesday throughout the school year.

Safe Routes to School coordinator Melanie Woods stated that so far, they’ve only had a couple parents come forward to help out and they are still in desperate need for more adults volunteers.  Adults can contact her at melwoods1131@aol.com.
