After school on Friday, Feb. 13, Annabelle Celkis, her mom, and her friend pulled a cheerfully decorated wagon up one side of Main Street and down the other. Emulating the main character from Love, Ruby Valentine by Laurie B. Friedman, Annabelle has made it her mission to spread love through our village by handing out valentines, chocolates & baked goods and wishing everyone “Happy Valentines Day!” She received as many incredulous looks as she did smiles (although those usually turned to smiles) and many hugs! This was just one part of her Valentine’s mission. In addition, Annabelle and her family personally distributed close to 1,000 valentines at the Veteran’s Hospital in Ann Arbor and organized and threw a Valentines party at a family shelter.
