Frank’s In the Morning has been making fresh doughnuts and selling them 6 mornings a week for the past few months. This Tuesday, they’ll be introducing something new to their doughnut line-up, the Paczki! Paczkis are a Polish pastry, brought to Midwest cities by immigrants. Although eaten in Poland on multiple holidays, in the US they are usually eaten on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. Paczkis have more eggs, butter and sugar than doughnuts.

Frank’s will offer cherry, apple, Bavarian cream, chocolate cream, white cream, and lemon filled. Head baker, Jessica Bushaw explained, “We will be making as many as we can from 10 p.m. Monday night until Tuesday morning. We will be rolling, cutting, frying and filling by hand.” Franks will open at 5 a.m. on Tuesday and will be selling paczkis for $1.50 each. Although you don’t need to order ahead of time, they are still taking advanced orders through Monday.

The Manchester Bakery also will be selling paczkis.

Editors Note: Article originally listed Tuesday’s opening time as 6am but because of the interest they have moved opening time up to 5am.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
