Manchester Community Schools announced early 2015 that they would be studying the concept of a balanced calendar and what that might mean for MCS. To read more about what this means, please read our January 2015 balanced calendar article.  The district then held eight community forums between Feb. 12 & March 11 to publicly discuss issues surrounding the move to a balanced calendar. The next step for the district is to collect community input with a 12-question balanced calendar survey. This survey will be available through April 18th. Everyone in the community is encouraged to take the survey, not just parents.

Later in the spring, if the board feels the concept of a balanced calendar is supported they will continue to review possible calendar adjustments and whether they would work for MCS. Data like the survey results will be used by the board to help them gauge support.
