Thanks to Amcor, Klager students from Joanna Van Raden’s fourth grade class had a unique opportunity to work long distance with students in Australia on a design project. Known as the 21st Century Global Cyber Pal Design Challenge, this project allows Klager students from Manchester, Michigan and  Greensborough Primary School students in Greensborough, Victoria to develop new and dynamic packaging.

Mrs. Van Raden’s fourth graders shared their packaging ideas with Greensborough peers through an online educational platform called Edmodo. This budding partnership encourages students to open their minds while simultaneously becoming part of a global learning laboratory. Joanne Kemner of Amcor explained that Amcor believes in global partnerships. “That’s why we’re introducing American and Australian students to the innovative world of responsible packaging design,” she said.

As part of this global partnership, Amcor has awarded Luther C. Klager Elementary School an $8,000 grant to provide four classrooms with technology and furniture essential for students’ 21st century learning experience. Amcor will present the students’ work at a reception in the end of May.
