Community Resource Center Featured by Food Gatherers
Our Community Resource Center and its director, Laura Seyfried, were recently profiled in an article in the monthly Food Gathers newsletter. As the food rescue and food bank program serving Washtenaw County, Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. Food Gathers serves 150 non-profit agencies and programs, including the CRC, who provide direct food assistance in the form of hot meals, nutritious snacks or emergency groceries to low-income adults, seniors and children in Washtenaw County.
From September 2015 issue:
“Manchester Community Resource Center (CRC) was created in 1987 after a major employer moved out of town and left generations of families without a steady source of income. Community members sought to fulfill this need by offering temporary assistance to struggling families with the creation of the CRC.
Today, the CRC serves those in need who live in the Village of Manchester and the surrounding townships (Freedom, Bridgewater, Sharon, and Manchester). With daily office hours and a plethora of services, the CRC’s mission is to provide effective programming and resources to improve their community…”
