Obituary: Shirley “Jean” Davis
Born as Shirley Jean Stuckman in Saginaw, MI to Frank & Lucille (Light) Stuckman on January 28, 1926; first of four children. Jean married James Alford Demerest on May 12, 1943; this marriage produced one son James Alan Demerest. Both have preceded her in death.
S. Jean Demerest married Bernard LaVern Davis on September 12, 1946. This union produced a daughter Peggy Lynn Allen (Barry) of Manchester, MI and a son Richard Michael Davis (Maryann) of Addison, MI. Jean leaves behind two brothers Dick (Betty- deceased) of Lansing, MI and David (Grace) Stuckman of Milan, MI. Jean’s middle brother Jerry preceded her in death; as did one of her grandchildren, Scotty Demerest.
S. Jean Davis leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren (with one on the way), and one great great grandchild (with a second one born the day of her death). Also, leaves ten nieces and nephews: and many great nieces and nephews.
In her final years she was a Charter member of the Manchester Lions Club with four generations of her family serving the community and District. She wishes in place of flowers to make a donation in her name to one of her favorite projects: Leader Dog for the Blind in Rochester, MI or the Penrickton Center for Blind Children in Taylor, MI.
