Manchester Science Olympiad Team Recruiting 2nd – 5th Graders

customLogoThe Manchester Science Olympiad Team is looking for kids in 2nd – 5th grade interested in the topics of: Electricity, Paper airplanes, Outer space, Building Bridges, Disease, or Rockets! Not only will students learn more about the world around them and make friends, but they will compete against other schools at a large competition held at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor on Saturday, May 14th, 2016. The Manchester team is broken down into smaller teams that compete in different categories. There is no fee to participate on the team or in the competition.

Categories available by grade level include:

2nd grade:

aerodynamics (paper airplanes)
pasta bridges
infinity and beyond (outer space)
disease detectives
on target (straw rockets)

3rd grade:

aerodynamics
disease detectives
pasta bridges
infinity and beyond
on target (straw rockets)
water rockets

4th grade:

circuit wizardry (electricity)
disease detectives
infinity and beyond
on target (straw rockets)
water rockets

5th grade:

circuit wizardry
disease detectives
infinity and beyond
on target (straw rockets)
water rockets

If your child is interested in joining the Manchester team, send the following information to head coach Lynn Miller by Jan. 31 by emailing her at lynnmill@umich.edu or assistant coach jjnoblewhite@yahoo.com. Include your name, your student’s name and grade, home phone number, and the teams he or she is interested in.
