Letter to the Editor: Manchester Needs to Stand Up and Help Out the Schools
January 31, 2016
Dear Editor,
I have a crazy idea. What if everyone in Manchester that has school age children would donate $100 per child to the school system? Then we would have an extra $100,000 a year. Hopefully this will help the parents be more involved with the school system and more involved in the education of our children. I understand not everyone can afford $100 per kid. But can we afford to lose our school system? Can we afford to cut education for our children?
We don’t need to stop at parents of children in school, all of Manchester can give to the school. We need to show our teachers that we do care. We need to show our children that things can be done if we work together. I understand we all pay taxes. I get that the state government should give more. Guess what, it is not happening. We need to solve our own problems. We all chose to live in Manchester. We all had our reasons. And now we need to stand up and help the schools out.
