Celebrity Server Night has been a Manchester tradition for more than 15 years.

Celebrities, (AKA Manchester Community Schools teachers and staff) don fancy black aprons adorned with the Manchester Community Schools Foundation (MCSF) logo, and bring water, take orders, deliver food, make ice cream cones, and bill the customers for their orders. All gratuities collected during Celebrity Server Night are donations to the MCSF and go back into the classrooms to provide mini-grants and special projects to students at all levels from K-12.

Please join staff and the Foundation tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3, at both Frank’s and the Dairy Queen from 4 to 8 pm. Make these two eateries your destination on the way home from work, after the ball game, or take a break from whatever you’re doing at home to support the Foundation in its efforts to “Help Kids Reach for the Stars!”

The Manchester Community Schools Foundation was established in 2000 to enhance the educational opportunities for Manchester’s children in grades K-12. Its goal is to provide an organization for tax deductible donations and planned gifts, and to act as a pass through to the school community. Their fundraising projects support mini grants to individual teachers for special projects, technology, and software to enhance classroom lessons, and specialty programs not in the curriculum. The goal of the foundation is not to replace or supplement normal district funding, but provide funding for special projects beyond the resources of the district.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
