Manchester Middle School holds Honors Night
On Tuesday, June 7, Manchester Middle School recognized 226 students in 5th through 8th grade at their annual Middle School Honors Night. This was the 30th year for the Middle School Honors event. Students were recognized for High Honors, Honors, Exceptional Attendance, Builders Club Membership, Student Council Membership or for being selected as a Student of the Month during the school year. High Honors recognizes students that received all A’s and the Honors Award recognizes students that received all A’s and B’s for three out of the four marking periods during the school year. Students receiving the Exceptional Attendance Award had no more than one day absent or one tardy during the school year.
At the end of the program, the focus was on the highest awards for the 8th grade students. A total of 26 eighth grade students were recipients of the Four-Year High Honors Trophy recognizing students that achieved the High Honors Award all four years in middle school. This was one of the largest group of 8th grade students receiving this award and included Natalie Bargardi, Annelise Baron, Hayley Blumenauer, Lee Blumenauer, Kathryn Bonner, Quinn Bourland, Mary Bradshaw, Braeden Caszatt, Alyssa Darr, Taryn Fether, Drew Gebhardt, Madelyn Harris, Cameron Hayslip, Liam Hiller, Tyler Horky, Megan Mann, Elizabeth Mrocko, Jordan Riske, Owen Rogowski, Alyssa Smith, Rylee Spitler, Matthew Stace, Katelyn Toner, Caitlin Vlcek, Miles West and Jennifer Wozniak.
The Principal’s Award was presented to eighth grade student, Lee Blumenauer. Eighth grade students, Kathryn Bonner and Katelyn Toner, were recognized for achieving the Four-Year Exceptional Attendance Award. Mikayla Ball received the Band Director’s Award. Selected by the eighth grade students, Manchester Middle School teacher Cori Kastel was recognized as the Middle School Teacher of the Year.
