Zion Lutheran Ice Cream Social

This Wednesday, June 22nd, Zion Lutheran will be holding their annual ice cream social from 5 to 8 pm at the church, located at 3050 S. Fletcher Rd. Meals will be $5/person and include a hot dog or BBQ sandwich, choice of one side dish, a drink, and ice cream and cake. Items may also be purchased a la carte. In addition to the delicious food, there will be games and activities for all ages, including a fish pond for our youngest guests, corn hole, badminton and “human foosball.” A hymn-sing for all will be held in their historic church at 6:30 pm.

Spokesperson, Laura Carry stated, “Zion’s Ice Cream Social is an annual tradition. Our goal each year is to provide an affordable evening of fun and fellowship for our members as well as for our neighbors. The fact that we can raise funds for those in need is a bonus.” Proceeds will be divided between Habitat for Humanity, Rippling Hope (in Detroit), and Zion’s kitchen committee. A portion will also go toward the support of their new pastoral intern who will be joining them in August.
