Manchester winners at 2016 Washtenaw County 4-H Youth Show

Washtenaw County’s 2016 4-H Youth Show was held Sunday, July 24 through Friday, July 29 at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds at 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road. Manchester youth made a great showing with many class winners!

In the 4-H Llama Show, Matthew Reeves, age 16, won the Senior Champion Trail Class. Matthew belongs to the Double L Llama 4-H Club.

In the 4-H Swine Show, 17-year old Mason Horning won the Senior Showmanship Class and the Champion Pair Market Hogs Class. Mason belongs to the Country Expressions 4-H Club. Eli Schmitt, age 14, won the Reserve Champion Pair Market Hogs Class. Eli belongs to the On Target 4-H Club. On Target 4-H Club, located in the Manchester area, also won Club Herd.

In the 4-H Dairy Show, 11-year old Jacob Bunn won the Junior Showmanship Class and the Jr. Reserve Red & White. Jacob belongs to the On Target 4-H Club. Mason Horning won Reserve Champion Senior Holstein Class, Reserve Supreme Grand Champion Female Class, Best Pair Class, Best Udder Class, Exhibitor Bred Champion Class, Jr. Champion Holstein Class, Jr. Champion Red & White Class, Overall Champion Red & White Class, and Overall Reserve Champion Holstein Class. Carl Pyle, age 14, won the Overall Champion Jersey Class and the Sr. Champion Jersey Class. Carl belongs to the Country Expressions 4-H Club. Country Expressions 4-H Club, located in the Manchester area, won Club Herd.

In the 4-H Rabbit Show, 13-year old Jonathan Miller won Best of Breed – Rex. Johnathon belongs to the On Target 4-H Club.

In the 4-H Goat Show, 12-year old Johnathon Clark won in the Junior Showmanship Class. Johnathon belongs to the On Target 4-H Club. Alexander Clark, age 15, won Grand Champion Dairy Goat Class, Reserve Grand Champion Dairy Goat Class & Best in Show. Alexander belongs to On Target 4-H Club. Faith Olberg, age 16, won Champion Pygmy Goat Class. Faith belongs to Country Expressions 4-H Club. On Target 4-H Club won Club Herd.

Unfortunately, show organizers did not have complete records for all of the competitions. Missing was the information for the Beef Show, Beef/Dairy Feeder Calves, Animal Decorator Contest, Livestock Judging Contest, Dairy Judging Contest, Lead with Fiber Contest, Small Animal Skill-a-Thon, Showmanship Sweepstakes, the Horse Shows, Special horse awards and the Cavy Show.
