The Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis have teamed up again with the Manchester Community Schools to hold a second Village Scarecrow Contest. This contest is open to all school-age children living in the school district, whether or not they attend Manchester Community Schools. Scarecrows can be created by groups or individuals and will be mounted to lampposts throughout the village for the month of October.

To enter, drop off scarecrows at the Manchester Middle School between 7:45 and 8:10 am or 3 and 3:30 pm on Oct. 3 with a completed entry form attached. Scarecrows need to be 5 to 6 feet tall and weather resistant. They should show community, school or organizational spirit and creativity. Three will be selected to win prizes: 1st – $50, 2nd – $25 and 3rd – $10. Scarecrows should be removed from posts by November 15th or they will be disposed of.
