Library promoting VFW-sponsored essay contest

Once again this year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is sponsoring two essay contests with patriotic themes.
The Voice of Democracy is open to 9-12th graders and has a $30,000 scholarship for its Grand Prize. This year’s theme is My Responsibility to America. For more information, please visit http://www.vfw.org/VOD/.
The Patriot’s Pen is open to 6-8th graders and features a Grand Prize of $5,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. This year’s topic is The America I Believe In. More information on this contest is available at http://www.vfw.org/PatriotsPen/
Entries for both contests are due November 1, 2016.
