Obituary: Robert Victor “Bob” Hansen
His Legacy… Hansen, Robert Victor “Bob”, age 83 of Manchester passed away September 26, 2016. He was born March 16, 1933 in Ann Arbor the son of Hans E. and Victoria (Plants) Hansen. Bob married Lois E. Brown on September 4, 1965 at the First United Methodist Church, Ann Arbor and she survives. He was a member of Community Bible Church in Manchester, Flying Farmers, and the Yankee Air Force Museum. Bob was employed with Tirb Chevrolet as an ASE Certified Mechanic until his retirement in 2002. He was also a pilot and loved to fly his Piper Tri-pacer. He was a gifted mechanic and trusted throughout the area to fix anything from farm tractors to classic cars. In retirement, Bob spent time flying radio controlled planes, but mostly cherished time spent with family and friends. His friendly, honest, loyal spirit will be missed by his family and many friends.
His Family…In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Bob is survived by his children; Bill (Jennifer) Hansen of Dexter, Linda (Brian) Eroh of Omro, WI, grandchildren; Bethany and Kurtis Hansen and Logan and Amanda Eroh; brother, Jim Hansen of Manchester and sister, Joan Moessner of Ann Arbor. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings; Elwood, Erling, Ralph, Rigmor and Helge.
His Farewell… Bob’s family greeted friends on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 1-3 & 5-8 pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Manchester. There was also a visitation on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 1-3 pm at Community Bible Church. Bob’s Community Farewell was held at 3 pm Sunday at the church with Pastor Ron Clark officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manchester.
