Rachel Brazier, her daughter Sarah Wilson, and husband Timothy Brazier were welcoming guests to the Grand Opening of Sweet Mary’s Cafe on Saturday.

Rachel Brazier has had a busy summer with her new business venture, named for her grandmother, and is looking forward to an even busier fall season.

Last Saturday, she and her family hosted a grand opening event at her coffee shop and cafe located at 327 West Main Street.

“We’ve had a good start,” she said, “and we are hoping to get still busier this fall. Things have been picking up now that kids are back to school and families seem to have more of a routine.”

Brazier, whose family has been highly supportive of her endeavor, observed that while the eatery is making enough to pay the bills, but her goal is to be able to pay herself as well. She’s looking into a variety of ways to make that happen in the near future, including tweaking her hours of business to find the optimal times when people will stop in!

Now featuring a full menu of sandwiches, soups, salads, and fresh baked goods along with coffee, coffee and espresso drinks, and teas, Brazier is filling a new niche in the Manchester breakfast and lunch market. She offers about a half dozen sandwich offerings, three different salads, and two soups per day, all of which are made with fresh, and primarily organic, ingredients.

“I go shopping nearly every day,” she says with a smile. “I try to find the freshest, most local ingredients and really try to emphasize organics.”

She also has choices for those with dietary restrictions, including gluten free breads and vegan options. Pricing is competitive, with her daily special of a full sandwich and a soup or salad being very popular, she added.

A few seasonal items have popped up on her menu this fall, as well–including pumpkin spice muffins, pumpkin spice lattes, and hot caramel apple cider.

The comfortable and inviting “extra” room on the west side of the building is gaining popularity for small group meetings, Brazier added. Call her at (734) 396-7060 for more information.

Sweet Mary’s Cafe is currently open 7 am to 2 pm Monday-Wednesday, 7 am to 5 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and 8-3 on Saturdays.
