After discussion at the most recent Manchester Community Schools school board meeting, Superintendent Cherie Vanatter reported that a small committee is in discussion about a new digital sign to be placed in front of Luther C. Klager Elementary. She stated, “We are exploring different options at this time, but similar to the sign in front of the high school. We think there will be bond money for this and the project will go out for a bid in the next few months.”

Unlike the sign in front of Manchester High School, which is located on Dutch Drive and receives only a small amount of non-school drive-by traffic, a sign in front of Klager would be visible to a larger number of drivers as the elementary school is located on M-52. Vanatter explained further, “This has been a topic at the board table for a few years. The small white sign we have there currently was meant to be temporary until the district was in a better financial situation and could afford a new sign.”
