Michael Vernon Helton, 1951 to 2016

His Legacy…..Helton, Michael Vernon, age 65, long-time resident/business owner of Manchester passed away December 21, 2016. Mike was born on March 12, 1951 in Lincoln Park, MI the son of Vernon and Olga (Starowicz) Helton. He was the owner/operator of the Manchester Flower Garden. To say Mike was a florist would be trivial, as anyone who knew him fully appreciated his talents as a designer. Mike had an eye for color, form and function and was generous with his time and gifts in the Village of Manchester. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends as a gifted story teller who was always genuine. The memory of Mike will be carried in the hearts of all who loved and knew him.

His Family….Mike is survived by his long-time companion: Susie Bachert; children: Brent (Penni) Helton and Jayne Helton; apple of his eye grandson: Alex Joseph Helton. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell…A Memorial Service for Mike is planned for Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Legacy Event Center in Manchester beginning at 3pm until the time of service at 5pm.
