Winter is the season that in literature may serve as a symbol for “death” with the following season of spring symbolizing new life. Death brings to mind deep and sometimes difficult thoughts and yet is ever a part of life. In this midwinter period, the people of St. Mary Manchester Church are hosting a forum for friends and neighbors throughout the area.

Fr. Bosco and the people of St. Mary invite the community to a special presentation to be held on Sunday, February 12 at 1 pm at their St. Mary Parish Center, located at 110 E. Madison Street, the street just north of the downtown stores. It will be a forum titled, “Life is Changed, Not Ended” and will offer an opportunity to give thought to several issues that we may confront when a loved one dies. There will be speakers from an area hospice organization, an attorney from Ann Arbor with much experience in family and elder law, and someone from our local funeral home. Fr. Bosco, the pastor at St. Mary, and Dcn. Dennis Walters will also share their insights and experience.

These issues are never easy to consider, but better to join with friends now when you have the emotional distance to thoughtfully engage these ideas.
